Orange Pound Cake

A golden cake with fresh orange juice is the perfect way to bring a spot of sunshine to your Holiday table!




I love pound cakes because they are simple to make, light in texture and tastes amazing. Pound cakes are filled with goodness of butter, sugar, eggs and flour. The secret totget light and slongy pound cake is beating eggs, sugar and butter.

I have started my baking with basic vanilla sponge cake. I remember my mom used to make pound cake on bhati ( Indian coal stove) and it we used to love it. Later she got a round oven for 500/- rupees in late 80's. I have learnt basics of Baking from her. In late 80's we never had digital weighing scales, so mom used to weigh eggs, butter and sugar in Tarazu. Now you know why measuring ingredients are important in baking.

3/4 cups sugar
1+ 1/3 cups of maida/flour
